
Rivers State: Faces Of Detained Nigerian Police Officers Caught On Video Inflicting Injuries On Woman In Port Harcourt
The Nigerian Police Force on Monday said it has identified all the policemen in a viral video showing a woman they reportedly assaulted in Rivers State.
PeoplesActs News reported earlier that the police in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, say they had launched an investigation into a viral video showing a woman who was reportedly assaulted by policemen.
In the video seen on Monday, a group of policemen were accused of assaulting a woman, leaving her with wounds on her face and mouth. However, in an update posted on its X account formerly Twitter on Monday, on the incident, the police said the officers in the viral video are now in custody as part of its ongoing investigation, while promising to remain fair and thorough in the investigation of the matter.

“We want to inform our esteemed friends that the police officers allegedly involved in the incident from the video have been identified and are now in custody as part of our ongoing investigation. We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough examination of this matter. “However, to ensure transparency and gather all perspectives, we urgently request the lady seen in the video to please come forward and share her side of the story.

In the viral video, the woman’s mouth was seen bleeding while a policeman who allegedly inflicted the injury was seen making a video of the environment. Others are seen searching her vehicle while some stood with some men who appeared to have stopped to intervene.
