Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles has filed for divorce from her second husband, actor Richard Lawson, after eight years of marriage.

Tina, 69, filed the paperwork on Wednesday, July 26, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the split as per TMZ. She listed the date of separation as Tuesday, July 25, according to the documents obtained by the publication.

In the documents, Tina also asks ‘to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support’ to Richard, 76, or her.

Tina and Richard said ‘I do’ in April 2015. They do not have any kids together.

Tina,  born Celestine Ann Beyonce had changed her name to Celestine Lawson when she wed Richard, and reportedly wants to change it back to Celestine Knowles, the name of her ex-husband.

Tina shares two kids with her first husband, Mathew Knowles, 71: superstar daughter Beyonce, 41, and singer and actress Solange, 37.

In 2019, she split from her daughters’ father. The pair were married for 31 years from 1980 to 2011.

They separated after it emerged Mathew, who managed daughter Beyonce until 2011, had fathered a love child with former Scrubs actress Alexsandra White.

White gave birth to their son Nixon on February 4, 2010, following an 18-month affair with Mathew.
