
Inspector-General Of Police Urges Nigerians To Use ‘Rescue Me App’ In Case Of Emergencies
The acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has urged Nigerians to embrace, download, and use the “NPF Rescue Me App”.
This appeal was made in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, saying the mobile application provides a platform for citizens to quickly alert the Police Force in emergency situations.
The statement noted that the project aims to facilitate faster reaction and support, Egbetokun added that it is in accordance with the Nigeria Police Force’s mission of fostering stronger community interaction.
The statement reads: “The ‘NPF Rescue Me App’ is available on both the ‘android’ and ‘ios’ application stores for free downloads and usage.

The IGP addressed on the sidelines of a tour of the National Command and Control Centre (C4i) and the Nigeria Police Crime and Incidence Database Centre (NPCIDC) at Force Headquarters in Abuja’s Louis Edet House.
The tour, according to Adejobi, was designed to highlight the IGP’s commitment to integrating smart policing practices within the Nigeria Police Force.
During the tour, the IGP emphasised the Police Force’s efforts to adopt cutting-edge technologies and urged officers to fully utilise these tools to improve their operations and service delivery to residents.
