Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has hailed Nigeria’s Flying Eagles for beating Italy 2-0 at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup on Wednesday.

Saraki also urged the Flying Eagles to keep soaring at the tournament.

Second-half goals from Salim Fago and Jude Sunday ensured Nigeria defeated Italy.

Reacting, Saraki in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday night wrote, “With 2 brilliant goals from Salim Fago and Jude Sunday against Italy, our Flying Eagles keep soaring in the #U20WC! Well done boys! #SoarFlyingEagles.”

The result against Italy means the Flying Eagles have now qualified for the Round of 16 after claiming 6 points from their first two games in the group.

The Flying Eagles will face Brazil in their final group game on Saturday in La Plata.
