EPL: I’m very much impressed with him – Guardiola names most influential coach
Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has named Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi as one of the most influential coaches in the last 20 years.
Guardiola said he is very much impressed with De Zerbi for his wonderful work at Brighton.
The Spaniard stated this on Tuesday at his pre-match press conference ahead of Man City’s Premier League tie with Brighton on Wednesday night.
Asked if he has been impressed with De Zerbi’s season at Brighton, Guardiola told reporters, “Very much so. He is to be congratulated on the incredible success of qualifying for Europe.
“Roberto is one of the most influential coaches of the last 20 years. No team plays like his, it is unique. I had a feeling he would have a big impact in the Premier League, but I did not expect it to be so soon.”
