Why I decided to remain in NNPP – Olufemi Ajadi
The 2023 governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, Mr. Olufemi Ajadi, has revealed reasons he decided to remain in the party and not defect to other parties like some politicians do, during and after election.
Oguntoyinbo who spoke with PM News on Saturday said that it is not about changing party but building a team that will rebuild Nigeria and make it giant of Africa again.
“I decided to remain in my party because I am a symbol of excellence, everywhere I go, I look out for how I can influence change, build a formidable team that will uplift Nigeria.
“It is not about changing one political party to another but working with people who love Nigeria and not just political thieves.
“I have not come to politics because of money, I am blessed already, but this is not just about me but all Nigerians.
“If I should move to a ruling party today, I will get appointments or major contracts but I do not need of those slavery jobs to be blessed.
My mission is to make sure that my fellow citizens stand to earn citizens benefit from their government and I believe we will achieve that in NNPP.”
Ajadi also reacted to the expulsion of the former Chairman of Ogun NNPP, Sunday Oginni Olaposi.
He said: “His expulsion followed the report of the Disciplinary Committee set up to investigate allegations of anti-party activities and other malpractices against him.
“According to the Disciplinary Committee, he failed to appear before the Committee on the two occasions he was invited to come and explain his own side in the allegations of anti-party activities and other misdemeanor against him. Instead, he resorted to abuses of the leadership of the party. The NWC found his act as gross insubordination capable of dragging the party in the mud”.
Ajadi added that he is now focused on ensuring justice over the 2023 election.
He said: “I am now focused on correcting abnormalities of the INEC. It is an intentional action for INEC to keep repeating just two political parties on ballot papers when we have 18 registered political parties. NNPP is still challenging them in court and we shall prevail. In the last election, we were cheated by INEC. We will prove it in court and we will win.”
