Edo State: Fake army officer, Kingsley Egharevba arraigned for alleged human trafficking

The Benin Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arraigned a 35-year-old man identified as Kilo Ken, also known, as Kingsley Egharevba, for allegedly impersonating a Nigeria Army officer. 

The suspect who was arraigned on a two-count charge of assisting one Nifemi Afolabi (F) a.k.a Halima, now at large in organising foreign travels for a victim (name withheld) for the purpose of prostitution and knowing the victim would be forced into prostitution in Libya, pleaded not guilty to the offences.

NAPTIP counsel Mrs Oburoh Victoria Okanigbuan revealed that the suspect committed the offence in Benin City in October 2019.

Before adjourning the case till June 15, 2023, Justice A.A Adewemimo ordered that the suspect continue with the administrative bail pending when the application for his bail is formally filed before the court.
