Never in the history of Rivers State has the citizens of the state been so divided and polarised as it has been since the emergence of Rotimi Amaechi and Nyesom Wike as leaders in the state’s political arena.

This division caused by their personal and selfish interest, has denied the state and citizens of the state several development opportunities both from the Federal and state government. This division has set children against parents, wife against husband, youths against their fellow youths, traditional stool against traditional stool, communities against communities. This division which has endured for almost sixteen years, has consumed lives and properties of several families.

For past sixteen years that this senseless division has lasted, both Rotimi Amaechi and Nyesom Wike has stupendously increase their material wealth while majority of their followers suffers in lack and deprivation. With poverty writing all over them, they are ready to maim and kill to please their masters.

One had thought that, with the administration of governor Wike coming to an end on 29th May, 2023, Rivers State was going to be free from the senseless rivalry between the two, but no. They have both strategized to continue to keep Rivers State divided and her citizens impoverished. This, they are doing by sponsoring their puppet surrogates to become the governor of the State.

Rivers State people must rise up and free their selves from these two brothers who are determined to destroy the state. Both Amaechi and Wike must be rejected by refusing to support their candidates in the persons of SIM Fubara and Tonye Cole.

If we love ourselves as Rivers people. If we want Rivers State to one and as peaceful as it was before Odili ‘s second tenure, then, we have to discard the idea of having SIM or Cole as governor of Rivers State.

Remember, God would never come down to change our situations. He has given us the power to change our situations. That power is contained in your PVC. To continue to support your oppressors is equivalent to insanity.

Arise O! Rivers people, Arise.
