Nneka Ede has taken a historical step. The Nigerian entrepreneur has become the owner of Lusitano Ginásio Clube, Futebol, SAD, a Portuguese third division club.
“I am very excited about this opportunity and I hope that this new chapter will deepen already great sporting relations between Nigeria and Portugal. Continue with the rich history of Lusitanos club and provide a pathway for young talent to develop and shine through.” Said Ede, the first African woman to own a club in Europe.
Lusitano is one of the oldest clubs of Portugal. It is 108 years old now. For next season, the new owner has already reached an agreement with technician José Bizarro to coach the team.
