Insecurity: Buhari in closed-door meeting with Northeast Governors, Service Chiefs while Armed Bandits Attacks his home State, Katsina Community

President Muhammadu Buhari, today, Monday met with the six state governors from the Northeast..

The meeting which is holding at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, also has all the Service Chiefs in attendance, including the Police IG.

The meeting is believed to be centered around the spate of insecurity in the region.

While the meeting is ongoing,armed bandits are  attacking Kurfi community under Kurfi Local Government Area of the President’s home State, Katsina State, SaharaReporters has gathered.

A resident of the area confirmed that the bandits stormed the two communities  on motorcycles while armed with weapons.

He said that they were shooting at every available object, adding that many residents escaped to nearby communities while some ran into the bush the bush.

Katsina is one of the states in the North-West that have suffered from repeated attacks by armed bandits on communities.

No fewer than 200 people have been reportedly killed by bandits in Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa and Safana local government areas of the state in the last two months.

Just recently, armed men suspected to be Boko Haram had attacked the convoy of the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum.

Zulum, in his reaction to the attack had accused the military of involvement.

However, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters had denied such claim, while insisting that Boko Haram were responsible for the attack.
