Morning sir,

YOU ARE FAILING IN YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL                                           RESPONSIBILITY

GENERAL AG OLONISAKIN

CDS Vision for The Armed Forces

“To ensure a well motivated, trained and equipped Armed Forces that is responsive to national security commitments”.

Twice, I have tried to meet you in your office, twice I was refussed entry by your Security details. I was about to embark on my third attempt when I read on the news papers that the Chief of Army Staff, Lft. General Tukur Yusuf Burutai has relocated to Katsina State to contain the banditry that has overwhelmed the home State of President Buhari,  hence, this open letter.

The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as ammended, provides in Section 217 that the Armed Forces of Nigeria,  are responsible for:

2(a) defending Nigeria from external aggression;

(b) maintaining Nigeria’s territorial integrity and securing

Nigerian borders from violation on land

(c) Suppressing insurrection and acting in aid of civil

Authorities to restore order when called upon to do

So by the president

If you will be sincere to your self, General, you will agree with me and majority of Nigerians that the Armed Forces under your leadership has failed in its responsibility to the Nation.

Every day,  the news media is awash and inundated  with news of hundreds of Nigerian Soldiers  and civilians being killed by Boko Haram INSURRECTION, kidnappers and Bandits, and Your Service Chiefs numerous baseless assurances to Nigerians that the Armed under your leadership is doing its best to stop the killings are no longer relevant

A few days ago,I read from a news paper that the head of the famous civilian JTF Chairman in Maiduguri, Borno State and 14 soldiers were killed by Boko Haram insurgence, despite your Armed Forces reassurances and promises that they will defeat the Boko Harams within days.

I hear your Army Chief of Staff, Tukur Burutai has vowed again  to stay in Katsina State until Banditory is rooted out in the area. Please, let him keep to his vow. The last time, he never kept to his vow not to leave Maiduguri  until Boko Haram is defeated.

General Olanisakin, how do you feel when you receive  reports that your officers are being mowed down like flowers by Boko Haram and Bandits?. Do you, sometimes, put yourself in the position of those slain soldiers as you could have been one of them? Do you try to mentally picture the feelings of the wives and children of those slain soldiers?

If the Armed Forces under your Leadership is doing its best, yet, Civilians and soldiers are being killed every day, don’t you think that your best is not enough and that it is time for you to quit the scene for another General or Officer to come and put in his own best ?

General, are the Boko Haram members and the Bandits based and operating from within Nigerian territory or from outside Nigerian territory? If they operate from within Nigerian territory, is their base or location unknown to your Armed Forces? if they operate from outside Nigerian territory, is their point  of entry unknown to your Armed Forces?

Is it the same Armed Forces that defeated the Biafran soldiers you are commanding or another Armed Forces? Where are those economic blockage tactics used to bring the Biafran Soldier’s  knees] down? Why is it difficult for your Armed Forces to cordon off their location and prevent  supply of food and other itemsfrom reaching them? Same way it was done to the then Biafran Soldier?  Are you confirming to Nigerians, late General Abacha’s assertion that ‘’If an insurrection  last more than 48 hours, that the Government is involved’’ ?

Is this Government preventing your Armed Forces from carrying out your  Constitutional responsibility to the Nation?

I think you have exhausted your best in terms of capacity.Yoy should resign your appointment now before the actual reasons for your Armed Forces failure are revealed

NIGERIAN LIVES MATTER!!!

Nngeri Goodhead Goodliffe
